Entry
Learning + first attempts
You're building your first skill and shipping practice work. Income is usually zero to small here, this is the investment phase.

Junior
First paid clients / junior role
You've got a portfolio and your first one or two clients, or a junior marketing job. Freelance income is irregular but real.

Consistent client work
You can run campaigns end-to-end, hold 2–4 retainer clients, or hold a solid in-house role. Income becomes more predictable.
